Punjab Kings batting failed to click for the second time in a row and as a result, the team lost back-to-back matches. In Hyderabad, Dhawan’s special knock of 99 saved the embarrassment, but against Gujarat Titans, nothing worked. As a result, batting first, Punjab Kings could only post 153 which is easily 20 runs below par.
Chasing a modest total, Gujarat Titans had no problems whatsoever. Wriddhiman Saha gave a fiery start and Shubhman Gill continued till the last over but couldn’t finish the chase. It was once again Rahul Tewatia who scored the winning runs.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans bowlers shined as a group except for Mohammed Shami, all the bowlers were economical and picked wickets at regular intervals. With this win, Gujarat Titans climbed to the third spot while Punjab Kings falls to sixth place.
