Dinesh Karthik is the new finisher in the team setup. He has done a fabulous job in yesterday’s match which seemed like slipped out of Team India’s hands. But Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya stitched a match-defining partnership which gave a fighting total to the team.
Losing the toss, India had to bat first at Rajkot. South African seamers utilized the pitch to their strength and pegged wickets at regular intervals. Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer fell for low scores. Ishan Kishan got out after scoring in the 20s. Rishabh Pant struggled and got out chasing a wide ball. When India got struggling, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik changed the course of the match. Especially the latter found boundaries at will and scored his maiden T20 century.
India scored 169 runs at the end of 20 overs. Chasing a competitive total, SA struggled to get going and recorded their lowest total against India in the T20s. Now, the series winner will be decided in Bengaluru.
