India has today won an important match. The race for the semifinal spots in the ongoing World Cup 2022 has intensified. Only Australia has booked their spot so far and five teams are fighting it out for the remaining three spots. Before the match against Bangladesh, India has won two games out of five and is in a spot of bother.

By defeating Bangladesh today, there have improved their chances. They have now 6 points and stand at a third position based on the better net run rate. South Africa, England, West Indies are the main competitors for the semifinal berths while New Zealand still got a chance mathematically. Both Bangladesh and Pakistan have been eliminated.

Batting first India post a middling score of 229, thanks to the start India had from the top order and the useful contributions from their lower middle order. But it is the bowling that handed over the win. Rajeshwari Gaikwad is economical by giving out only 15 runs in her 10 overs. Sneh Rana picked up 4 wickets. As a result, Bangladesh was bundled out for just 119 runs and a big win for India with a margin of 110 runs. Yastika Bhatia was the player of the match for her handy half-century.
