Days after the Asia Cup completion, BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming T20 world cup. This 15-member squad is more or less the same squad that played in the Asia Cup. Only the big names Jasprit Bumrah, and Harshal Patel have returned to the squad and Ravindra Jadeja has been omitted due to injury.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Deepak Hooda kept their places intact. Team India management once again decided to keep trust in Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik as the designated wicketkeeper and finisher.

Mohammad Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, and Deepak Chahar have been included as the standby players. So, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, and Jasprit Bumrah will take care of the bowling department along with Hardik Pandya. Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal will handle the spin department.

Along with the T20 squad, the squad for the T20I series against Australia and South Africa was announced as well. Mohammad Shami and Deepak Chahar have been picked in the squads for these two series. Arshdeep will miss the Australia T20s, while Bhuvi and Hardik will miss SA T20s.
