Australia’s opening batsman Usman Khawaja scored a brilliant ton on day one of the fourth test and as a result, Australia has gained the upper hand. Usman Khawaja batted the discipline and only punished bad balls. Earlier, Australia won the toss and without any hesitation, they opted to bat first.

On a slow and dry pitch, Travis Head gave Australia a brilliant start. The openers put on a fifty partnership, Ashwin picked Head’s wicket, and Shami didn’t wait for Labuschagne’s wicket. Jadeja returned and pegged Smith’s wicket, who dragged on to the stumps after a steady partnership with Khawaja.

At the end of the day, Khawaja and Cameron Green are batting on 104 and 49 respectively with a brilliant 85 partnership. Australia is now in the driver’s seat with 255 for four wickets. India needs to pick quick wickets to be back in the game.
