The final date has been booked. India and Sri Lanka are going to meet in the finals of the latest edition of the Asia Cup. In a virtual semifinal, Srilanka beat Pakistan by the barest of margins in a rain-curtailed game.
The match was reduced to a 32-over contest and Pakistan made 252 runs thanks to the contributions of Shafique, Rizwan, and Iftikhar Ahmed. In reply, Sri Lanka was given the target of 252 in the same number of overs.
Kusal Perera started brilliantly by scoring a quick 17 in just 8 balls. The partnership between Kusal Mendis and Samarawickrama is brilliant and got Sri Lanka. Kusal Mendis made a brilliant 91 runs in just 87 balls but unfortunately couldn’t take the team over the line.
Charith Asalanka took the baton on and scored a brilliant 49 despite the flow of wickets on the other hand. Though Iftikhar Ahmed took 3 wickets and Shaheen Afridi picked up 2 wickets in the end, it wasn’t sufficient. Sri Lanka will meet India on the 17th of this month.
