BCCI has officially announced the five business enterprises that bagged the Women’s IPL teams. The Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd, owned by Gautam Adani has made the biggest bid for a team in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). As per the official records, Adani splurged Rs. 1289 Crores to bag the Ahmedabad franchise. It is known that Adani narrowly missed the Men’s Premier League.

The four other entities who will own the WPL teams are Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, and Capri Global. Out of the five, three teams will be owned by the existing corporate entities of the Premier League. With the current auction, BCCI has pocketed over Rs. 4,600 Crores which will be for a period of 10 years.

BCCI had earlier sold the media rights to Viacom 18 for a whopping Rs. 951 Crores.
