Kiran Abbavaram had a decent outing with SR Kalyanamandapam that was released yesterday. Now, he has come up with the film Sebastian PC 524, a murder mystery. Let us see how the movie is.

Story:
Kiran Abbavaram (Sebastian) has a night blindness problem. He is a Police Constable and while he was on the duty, a young lady Neelima (Komalee Prasad) gets murdered.

Now, the circumstances are such that Sebastian must solve the murder mystery. How does he manage his night blindness problem forms the crux of the story?

Performances:
Kiran Abbavaram is in his elements. He emotes well according to the situation. He performs decently as a man suffering from night blindness. He has a good screen presence. However, we get a feeling that his problem of night blindness was not utilized effectively.

Komalee Prasad has got a crucial role. Though her screen presence is limited, she is crucial to the story and Komalee made sure she didn’t falter. Senior actress Rohini was seen as the hero’s mother and she did well in her limited role.

Aadarsh Balakrishna, the young actor Ravi Teja, etc., have done their jobs neatly.

Technicalities:
Raj K Nalli’s cinematography work should get a special mention. He has used the night sequences to his strength. His framing, lighting, especially in night sequences are superb. There is nothing much to talk about production design as many scenes are shot in natural locations.

Production values are decent. The movie is made on a tight budget, producers made sure to do the adequate. Ghibran’s music gives mixed feelings. While his songs are okay, the problem is with the BGM. It is loud for most of the parts. He has given the output more than what the scene demands. Editing could have been sharp.

Balaji Sayyapureddy has come up with an interesting storyline. However, he faltered with the execution part. He hasn’t handled well the screenplay. There are cliches throughout.

Analysis:
Sebastian PC 524 is a half-baked attempt with nothing much to offer. Keeping aside Kiran Abbavaram, the film is literally nothing. One can easily say the film failed at the writing-table. With the evolution of world cinema, we are lucky to witness many superb crime thrillers and murder mystery dramas. Nothing to be compared though, Sebastian PC 524 is a film that makes you feel disappointed.
