TRS MLAs poaching: HC orders SIT to report direct

BJP leader Premender Reddy had filed a petition in the High Court seeking to hand over the TRS MLAs poaching case to the CBI as he stated the apprehension that the investigation could be influenced by the state government. He has either asked for CBI intervention or SIT independent investigation.

High Court dismissed the petition for CBI intervention but made the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe the case independently. This means the SIT will not report the case to the state government and has ordered not to brief the developments in the case. The team headed by Hyderabad Police Commissioner C. V. Anand should not leak information to the media.

The High Court division bench headed by Chief Justice Justice Ujwal Bhuyan directed that SIT submit a report to the court on November 29th about the progress in the case.

Premender Reddy after the orders stated that he and his party welcomes the Court’s order making the investigation independent.
