Bharatiya Janatha Party is having tough times in the states where it is ruling. Before the elections in some of the states, BJP is ruling, it is facing some roadblocks. In Goa, Manohar Parikkar’s son Utpal Parikkar has left the party as he was denied a ticket for the Panaji constituency in the upcoming state assembly elections.

The three-time Chief Minister and former Union Minister Manohar Parrikar is a very popular man in Goa and his untimely death was a shocker to everyone.

Utpal Parikkar wanted to contest in the assembly elections where his Dad used to contest. However, BJP has indeed given the ticket to sitting MLA Atanasio Monserrate who in turn won on Congress ticket.

BJP high command has offered Utpal two other constituencies but Utpal was adamant about Panaji. “I have left no other choice,” said Utpal in a statement after he left the party. Utpal will be now contesting as an Independent, though he was welcomed by Aam Aadmi Party. The state’s elections will be held on February 14th.
