A group of 70 Indian nationals possessing H1B visas is taking legal action against the US government. 70 visas of Indian graduates were denied by the government because of fraud perpetrated by their employers. These Indians were trained through a program for foreign graduates of US institutions. They claim that they didn’t knowingly engage in fraud despite their employers’ actions and yet they were unfairly punished even without a chance to respond.

The lawsuit by plaintiffs argues that the Department of Homeland Security wrongly denied the Indians visas despite their legitimate employment. The lawsuit has also mentioned that the agency exceeded its authority by not giving a chance to respond to allegations.

Wasden Law attorney Jonathan Wasden from Plaintiffs stated that “The agency assumed that anybody who had touched these companies was somehow guilty of fraudulent misrepresentations to the US government in an attempt to get a visa or immigration benefit.”
