With India losing the first test, the team has been trying on new combinations. However, this will be a forced change as two prominent players have been ruled out of the second test. For the Vishakapatnam test, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are set to miss out.

On day 4 of the Hyderabad test, Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury while batting. While attempting a run, he was seen clutching his hamstring. After the scans, Jadeja was ruled out of the second test. KL Rahul who batted as a specialist complained of right quadriceps pain and thus he will miss the second test.

With both KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja getting ruled out, the selection committee added three players to the squad. Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar have been added to the squad. All these three players are a part of the India A side in the ongoing series against England Lions.
