The state government has issued orders suspending IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao just after 15 days he took the charge. This is the second time, the AP govt is suspending ABV. When Jagan took charge as the Chief Minister, for the first time PoAB Venkateswara Rao was suspended in February 2020.

AB Venkateswara Rao has decided to fight through the legal process. Supreme Court has recently ordered to lift the suspension on him as it cannot be continued beyond 2 years.

Andhra Pradesh government has recently posted AB Venkateswara Rao as Commissioner of printing and stationery. He took charge as the commissioner on June 17th and within 15 days he was suspended. The government alleged that the senior IPS officer tried to influence witnesses related to a criminal trial pending against him.

AP government said that he was suspended under sub-rule 3 of Rule 3 of the All Indian Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1969.
