With the squad announced for the Asia Cup, the concentration now moves on to the playing XI that Team India will pick up for the tournament. The big boys KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli have returned to the squad. Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya are included as well. So, it might be the toss-up between Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik in the playing XI.
Most probably, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will open the batting and Virat Kohli will return to his original third place. The middle order is followed by Suryakumar Yadav who comes in at 4. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja will come at 6th and seventh places as the management think to play 2 all-rounders in the XI which gives them six bowling options.
The remaining four places will be shared by either 2 seamers, 2 spinners, or 3 seamers and 1 spinner. Now, the focus is on the fifth and the only spot that is vacant. Will Rishabh Pant be played in the spot or is it Dinesh Karthik? Well, only time will answer this.
