The final and fifth test between India and England began today a while ago. India had to bring in debutante Devdutt Padikkal into the playing XI as Rajat Patidar had an injury last evening. Contrary to the suggestion, India stuck to the two-pacer-three-spinner attack. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were included in the playing XI.

England won the toss and elected to bat first. However, quite opposite to their Bazball approach, the openers are playing cautiously. Slowly, they are trying to get into the groove. At the time of drinks, England has scored 47 runs for 13 overs which by their standards is a slow start.

However, considering the situation, England should be happy that they haven’t lost the wicket. Both Bumrah and Siraj troubled the batsman but weren’t lucky enough to get a wicket. We have to wait and see whether India can make any inroads into the deep England side.
