The all-important Rajkot test, which is the third of the series will kickstart on the 15th of this month. The test match is crucial because the series is currently leveled up at 1-1. Injuries have become a concern for both the teams. India is struggling with many people becoming unavailable. KL Rahul is going to miss out on the third test as well due to his injury. It is well known that Rahul missed the Vizag test with a quadriceps injury.

KL Rahul’s omission for the third test is largely precautionary as he is said to be only 90 percent fit. He will be playing the Ranchi test. Youngster Devdutt Padikkal earns maiden test call-up for this test.

On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja who also missed the second test is declared match-fit and will be playing the third test. With KL Rahul missing out and Shreyas Iyer not included in the squad, one of Sarfaraz Khan and Devdutt Padikkal might be getting their maiden test call-up.
