Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, is again in headlines. On Thursday, Mehbooba Mufti performed Jalabhishek on a Shivling in a temple in Poonch district. After the video surfaced, statements are being made on this.
BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said, “I am also coming after offering water from the temple. The news is made of those people because they are doing something different. It is natural that when this type of time comes or elections etc. So they start talking like this.”
He said, “If really they are doing like this then God give them wisdom and they work in the interest of the country. Work in the interest of Jammu and Kashmir and not in support of Pakistan which is always their favourite. Or she does it by being a supporter of the militants. I will pray to Lord Shiva to give her wisdom.”
At the same time, Mehbooba Mufti has given her point on performing Jalabhishek.
She said, “What’s the matter of double standard in this. We live in a secular country. Where Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb is there. Our Yashpal Sharma has built a temple there, his sons wanted me to come inside and see. I saw that the temple has been built with great effort, a very beautiful temple has been built.”
