Prime Minister Narendra Modi has targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing a rally in Karnataka.
Without naming Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his comment on Indian democracy in London is an attack on the people of Karnataka, India and Lord Vashveshwara.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “It is unfortunate that questions are being raised on India’s democracy from London.”
Elections are to be held in Karnataka this year. Inaugurating development projects in Hubli, Karnataka, Modi said, “Today when I have come to the land of Lord Vashveshwara, I feel more blessed. Establishment of Anubhav Mandapam is one of the major works of Lord Vashveshwara. This democratic system is studied all over the world, there are many such things due to which we say with the claim that India is not only the largest democracy in the world but also the mother of democracy. It was my good fortune that I got the opportunity to inaugurate the statue of Lord Vashweshwara in London a few years back. His statue on the soil of London, but it is unfortunate that the work of questioning India’s democracy has been done in London itself.”
Modi said, “The roots of India’s democracy have been watered by our centuries-old history. No power in the world can harm India’s democratic traditions. Despite this, some people are constantly putting India’s democracy in the dock, such people are insulting Lord Vashveshwara, the people of Karnataka, India’s great tradition, India’s 130 crore conscious citizens. The people of Karnataka also have to be careful from such people”.
Earlier, in a rally in Karnataka itself, Modi said that on one hand Congress is busy in digging Modi’s grave and on the other hand Modi is busy in developing the country.
“The Congressmen who are dreaming of digging Modi’s grave do not know that the blessings of crores of people of the country are Modi’s biggest shield”, Modi said.
