Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has informed in the Parliament that till now in the year 2023, 4 organizations have been declared as ‘terrorist organizations’. According to him, now the number of such organizations has increased to 44.

According to reports, in a written reply to BJP MP Sushil Kumar Modi’s question, he said, “Four organizations have been notified as terrorist organizations under UAPA in the year 2023. These organizations were involved in terrorist activities and have been responsible for many terrorist incidents in India.”

These four organizations are – The Resistant Front, People’s Anti-Fascist Front, Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force and Khalistani Tiger Force.

Rai said that 54 terrorists have been listed under the fourth list of UAPA and 44 terrorist organizations have been listed under the first list.

Sharing details of the four organisations, Rai said the TRF is a proxy outfit of terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba and came into existence in 2019. “It has been involved in planning killings of security force personnel and innocent civilians of Jammu and Kashmir, co-ordinating and transporting weapons to support proscribed terrorist organisations, recruitment of terrorists, infiltration of terrorists and smuggling of weapons and narcotics from across the border,” he said.

Continuing its crackdown on terrorism sponsored from across the border, the Centre banned two proxy organisations of the dreaded Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad and declared four individuals terrorists in January this year.
The action against the terror groups and terrorists came amidst the repeated assertions by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah that the central government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism.
