The Warriorr movie review – regular ‘cop’ drama

Cast: Ram Pothineni, Krithi Shetty, Aadi Pinisetty, and others
Director: Lingusamy
Producer: Srinivasaa Chitturi
Music Director: Devi Sri Prasad

Ustaad Ram Pothineni has played the role of a Police Officer for the first time in his career. He teamed up with Tamil director Lingusamy for the project The Warriorr. The movie has impressed with its promos. Now, let us check out the review.

Story:

Dr. Satya (Ram Pothineni) works as a doctor in a government hospital in Kurnool. He doesn’t like the impact of the goon Guru (Aadi Pinisetty) in the town and everyone fears him. Satya stands in Guru’s way and almost gets killed. That’s when he changes his path. Satya returns to the town as a powerful Police Officer.

What does he do to bring down Guru forms the rest of the story?

Performances:

Ram is energetic throughout the movie. He shoulders the film many times. His sincere effort can be seen in the film. Though for the first time, Ram looked confident as a Police Officer. He danced like a dream. Overall, it is a good outing for Ram Pothineni.

Krithi Shetty looked cute. Her chemistry with Ram is good onscreen. She complimented Ram well in the songs. Aadi Pinisetty is a perfect fit for the role of Guru. His introduction sequence is one of the major highlights.

Nadiya and Brahmaji have got noteworthy characters. The others are just fine.

Technicalities:

The songs by Devi Sri Prasad are good. Bullet and Whistle Songs are picturized very well too. However, the feeling comes that his BGM could be better. The songs add energy to the film. Sujith Vassudev’s cinematography is another plus point for the film. The editing is decent as well.

The production values are rich. Coming to the writing, Lingusamy has taken up another regular Police vs Rowdy drama. He hasn’t deviated much and there are not many twists and turns. He has taken the predictability route in the second half. However, there are some sequences in the movie which stand out. The kidnap scene which comes in the second half is one of them.

Analysis:

The first half is racy though routine. There are not many complaints. The interval block sets up nicely for the second half. However, in the latter portions, there is this routine hero vs villain fight. Apart from the 15-minute kidnap scene, there is not much to talk about in the second half. Had the director tweaked the screenplay in the second half a little bit, The Warriorr notches another level for sure.

Nevertheless, The Warriorr is a decent one-time watch for those who love mass commercial entertainers.

Rating: 2.75/5 .
