The iconic singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri has passed away on Tuesday night. He was being treated at Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital. He was 69.

Bappi Lahiri was admitted to the hospital and was treated for a month. He was discharged on Monday. However, his health deteriorated on Tuesday and a doctor was called to the home. He was then immediately shifted back to the hospital.

Dr. Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital told the media that Bappi Lahiri had multiple health issues. He breathed his last due to Obstructive Sleep Apnea. In the late 70s and 80s, Bappi Lahiri is fondly called Bappi Da. He has last composed for Baaghi 3 in 2020. He made his debut in the industry with the music score Nanha Shikhari in 1973.

After the demise of Lata Mangeshkar Ji, Bappi Lahiri has posted a photo of him sitting on the lap of Lata Ji, captioning, “Maa”. His last Instagram post is an old photo of himself captioning, “Old is always gold.” Bappi Lahiri has been tested COVID positive last year and he was admitted to hospital. After being treated for a few days he was discharged.
