Since June 2, 2014, when Andhra Pradesh split into Telangana, there’s been ongoing debate about Hyderabad’s status as a shared capital. This year’s June 2 marks a significant milestone of 10 years into the splitting of the state. However, discussions about Hyderabad have been ongoing for a while now, with various political leaders expressing their views.

Hyderabad’s Future: Capital of Telangana or Union Territory of India?

Recently, KTR, the working president of TRS and a former minister, made remarks about Hyderabad. He suggested that Hyderabad should transition into a union territory. This sparked intense reactions from the BJP and Congress leaders, who strongly disagreed with KTR’s statements.

Regarding these statements, CM Revanth Reddy also shared his thoughts. He highlighted the importance of the state’s overall development and governance. He reiterated that Hyderabad will remain an integral part of Telangana and not become a union territory.

With the parliamentary elections concluded, political activities are gaining momentum. Leaders are now focusing on the state’s progress and administration. However, the topic of Hyderabad’s status remains a contentious issue, with differing opinions from various political parties.
