The Indian epic RRR made a huge splash in the international arena. Apart from the Oscars for the Best Original Song – Naatu Naatu, RRR grabbed many international awards and acclaim. Now, another huge honor came the RRR way. As many as 6 cast and crew members were invited to be Oscars members. Jr NTR, Ram Charan, composer MM Keeravani, production designer Sabu Cyril, lyricist Chandrabose, and cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar were invited by The Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences, the body that conducts the prestigious Oscars.
The next year’s Oscars will take place on March 10th, 2024. Overall, 398 individuals have got invitations to join the ranks this year taking the total to 10,817 out of which 9,375 are eligible to vote.
Surprisingly, RRR director SS Rajamouli was left out invited. Apart from the RRR cast and crew, Kranti Sarma, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Karan Johar, Sabu Cyril, Haresh Hingorani, P.C. Sanath, Mani Ratnam, and Chaitanya Tamhane were invited from India to be the panel of members.
