After a convincing win against Australia, India will be facing Afghanistan today. The match will be played at New Delhi’s Firaz Shah Kotla Stadium. India will be without Shubhman Gill once again as he is currently suffering from Dengue. Gill hasn’t traveled to Delhi along with the team. Instead, he is being treated currently at Cauvery Hospital in Chennai. The Team’s doctor is accompanying Gill and monitoring his recovery.
This means that Ishan Kishan will once again open the innings along with the captain Rohit Sharma. India might want to bring in Mohammed Shami into the playing XI considering the fact that he took a hat-trick against Afghanistan in the last World Cup edition.
However, the batting depth might be sacrificed by bringing in Shami, and Ashwin can’t be in the mix with that. So, the management might not risk bringing in so many changes to the side.
