Karthikeya 2 emerged as the winner at the box office last weekend. The movie lost a crucial holiday as it was released a day late. Karthikeya 2 was released on August 15th on Saturday. Along with Karthikeya 2, other films like Lal Singh Chaddha and Macherla Niyojakavargam were released. But unfortunately, both the movies received backlash from the audiences.
Karthikeya 2 received a positive response from day 1. The film hasn’t managed a wide release. The theaters couldn’t be increased either. Karthikeya 2 could only see an increase in the theaters after the 16th. Still, the film managed handsome weekend collections.
Karthikeya 2 will emerge as the winner in both the domestic and the overseas markets. The film has collected a handsome share of Rs. 7 Cr in two days from the Telugu States. It has collected $400K from overseas.
Though Macherla Niyojakavargam has had a poor run at the box office, it managed to hold the majority of theaters. Sita Ramam and Bimbisara has shown strong hold.
