SRH vs PBKS: Allround performance hands Sunrisers their first win

After two humiliating losses, Sunrisers Hyderabad bounced back strongly and registered their debut win of the season. In the match against Punjab Kings, SRH elected to bowl first. They handed over the debut caps to Klaasen and Markande. Brook was made to open the innings.

Bhuvi took the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh on the first ball and what followed then was precision. No one except Dhawan tried to score some handy runs. Only Sam Curran (22) crossed the double-digit mark. At one stage, Punjab Kings were down to 88/9. Then the Dhawan show started and he took the bowlers to the cleaners. Dhawan scored 99 runs by the end of the innings and Punjab ended up at 143/9.

In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad started well. However, Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal fell in quick succession and SRH batters, Tripathi and Markram had a 100-run partnership. Tripathi in particular was superb where he scored 74 of 48 balls. Mayank Markande took four wickets for SRH. Dhawan for his superb innings got the player of the match award.
