Along with KL Rahul, Team India spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been ruled out of the upcoming South Africa T20 series. With this, BCCI has decided to hand over Rishabh Pant the captaincy duties. Hardik Pandya will be the vice-captain for this series. However, the selection committee hasn’t named any replacements for the injured cricketers.
Rahul has been ruled out of the series due to a right groin injury while Kuldeep Yadav was injured while practicing batting in the nets.
Now, the updated T20 squad looks like this: Rishabh Pant (C), Hardik Pandya (VC), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Venkatesh Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik.
Rahul Dravid, the head coach has yesterday said that though the prospects of Umran Malik look bright, he might not feature in the playing Xi straight away. He needs to work on his bowling, Dravid said.
