India won the second ODI in a comprehensive style against South Africa. Batting first, SA didn’t get the required start. But Hendricks and Markram made sure the innings went smoothly. At one stage, it looks like South Africa will cross 300 easily but India’s bowlers pulled things back very nicely. They took both the batsman Hendricks and Markram in quick succession. Klaasen and Miller tried to continue the run flow but only with little success. Finally, SA could only manage 278 runs in their 50 overs.
India in reply lost both Dhawan and Gill early but Shreyas and Ishan Kishan batted sensibly They mixed caution with aggression. Especially, Ishan batted positively. He took the pressure off Shreyas but missed a well-deserved 100. He fell after scoring a fluent 93. But Shreyas continued the momentum and his partnership with Sanju Samson drove India home. In the process, Shreyas completed his second century as well.
