The high-profile India vs. Pakistan match in the 2023 World Cup has been rescheduled. It is well known that the match originally was scheduled to be played on October 15th in Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Now, the match was rescheduled to October 14th. The need to change the match came in after Ahmedabad Police expressed concern about assigning adequate security as the Navaratri begins on the same day. The Navaratri is a very special festival in India and as the celebrations will begin on October 15th, the Police have suggested changing the date of the match.
The BCCI has now decided to pre-pone the match by a day. Apart from this match, three other matches will be played at this venue which include the opening match between New Zealand and England on October 5, England vs Australia on November 4, and the final tournament on November 19. The World Cup 2023 will be hosted by 10 Indian Cities.
