The Asian Cricket Council has decided to conduct the Asia Cup 2023 in a hybrid model. The tournament will be played between August 31st and September 17th. The Asia Cup will be played in a 50-over format this year with six teams India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal fighting it out for the cup.

First, four matches will be played in Pakistan and then the tournament moves to Sri Lanka where 9 matches will be held. The teams will be divided into two groups and the top two teams from each group enter the Super Four stage and then two teams will progress to the finals. Sri Lanka enters the tournament as the defending champions after they beat Pakistan in the final.
