It’s been a while since Naga Shaurya scored success and he pinned all his hopes on Rangabali, which looked like a wholesome entertainer. Rangabali released today. Check out the review here.

Story:

Shaurya (Naga Shaurya) is a happy-go-lucky guy who has an obsession with his hometown Rajavaram. However, his father sends him to Vizag for further studies. There Shaurya falls for Doctor Sahaja (Yukti Thareja). Sahaja’s father (Murali Sharma) is not ready to allow them to get married due to the conflict at the Rangabali center in Rajavaram.

What is the conflict and how is it related to Shaurya’s love story? How does Parasuram (Shine Tom) affect this conflict in the rest of the story?

Performances:

Naga Shauya performed very confidently in the film. He looks handsome and performed well in comedy and action sequences. He suits well as a careless guy.

Satya is the star attraction of the movie. He carried the entire first half on his shoulders. Satya has impeccable comedy timing and it is explored well in the first half. Yukti Thareja plays the female lead role and she hasn’t got a meaty role. However, she does well in her limitations. Shine Tom Chicko hasn’t got a lengthy role and it’s sad to see a talented actor gets a short role.

Sarath Kumar, Goparaju Ramana, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Bhadram, etc. were given predictable roles and they did OK.

Technicalities:

Love Story fame Pawan CH composes music for this movie and it is hard to believe that the same person scored music for both movies. No song registers in the audience’s mind. The melody is not so effective and the mass numbers are unforgettable. The BGM is loud. The editing is OKAY. The cinematography by Divakar Mani is satisfactory. The production values are fine.

Pawan Basamsetti has all before his hand but he failed to make a mark. He crafted well the first half with comedy despite not having any story. However, he stumbled badly in the second half. The entire climax turns out to be a joke.

Analysis:

Rangabali is another half-baked film for Naga Shaurya. The first half comedy by Satya is the only saving grace in the movie. Despite Naga Shaurya tried his best, he couldn’t do anything to change the fate. Rangabali is an under-par comedy entertainer. Looks like, Shaurya has to wait for his next film to score success.
