Cast: Sai Pallavi, Kaali Venkat, and others
Director: Gautham Ramachandran
Producer: Thomas Renny George
Presenter: Rana Daggubati
Music: Govind Vasantha
Rating: 2.75/5

Sai Pallavi has played the lead role in the movie Gargi. The movie attained decent buzz before its release. Gautham Ramachandran directed it. Let us see how the movie is.

Story:
Gargi (Sai Pallavi) is a teacher who leads a peaceful life. She lives with her father who works as a watchman at an apartment. One day their lives turned upside down when Police arrests Gargi’s father in a gang rape case.

The rest of the story is all about how Gargi with the help of an innocent lawyer (Kaali Venkat) fights against the odds and tries to throw the light on the truth.

Performances:
Sai Pallavi is a natural performer. We all know that. She has shown how good she will be if a strong character is given to her. Sai Pallavi’s performance is too good in many scenes in the movie.

Kaali Venkat will touch the hearts of the audience with this movie. His innocence and histrionics will hook you even after leaving the theater.

The rest of the star cast has done a decent job in their own way.

Technicalities:
Govind Vasantha has given his best with his BGM. It elevates the scene and takes it deep into the hearts of the audience. The cinematography is nice. Editing is alright. The production values are good considering it a low-budget social media.

Director Gautham Ramachandran is sincere in his attempt. He has taken up the sensitive issue of sexual exploitation of girls in our country and has written some effective scenes. The writing is strong. He doesn’t deviate much from the proceedings. However, he could have paced up a bit as the narration is too slow at times.

Analysis:
Gargi is an honest attempt. The performances of Sai Pallavi, and Kaali Venkat are huge positives. The issue spoken in the film is contemporary. The concept will definitely connect and the final twist will definitely surprise you. However, a little care should have been taken about the pace which will make things quite better. Overall, Gargi is a good watch if you love serious social dramas.
