Instead of the usual President of India, Rashtrapati Bhavan sent an invite for a G20 dinner on September 9th in the name of The President of Bharat. The G20 Summit is being held in New Delhi on September 9th and 10th. Several heads of nations including United States President Joe Biden will be attending. With the invite coming in the name of President of Bharat, there are speculations that India is likely to be renamed as Bharat. It is said that a resolution is likely to be taken up in the Special Session of Parliament.

The opposition on the other hand is lashing out at the center and is seen as the response to a recent bloc of Opposition alliance calling itself INDIA. While the ruling party is welcoming the change stating that India’s name is given by the Britishers, Bharat resembles us.

On the other hand, the opposition stated that the centre is rattled by the term INDIA and now they want to change it.
