It is very well known that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan has decided to rename the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences to Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences. He stated that he and his government has immense respect for NTR but the name change is to honor the services of YSR, who serviced the poor as a doctor.
Telugu Desam Party condemned the act and staged protests. Now, Jr. NTR has responded to this issue. He posted a note in Telugu that states that no one can tarnish the image NTR has.
“NTR and YSR are the stalwarts of the Telugu People. Renaming something by replacing one name with the other will not raise the stature of YSR nor it will lower the stature of NTR. By renaming the University name, no one can erase the fame, his stature, and his place in the hearts of the Telugu people,” said NTR Jr. in a statement.
