It is insulting and humiliating: Leaders on CBI interrogation of Rabri Devi

The CBI visit to Rabri Devi’s house caused exchange of words between BJP and SP.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has said that the CBI reached his mother Rabri Devi’s house because her family has consistently opposed the BJP ruling at the Centre. He said that during the time when his father Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister, he did not have the power to give a job in exchange for anything.

He said, “The day our Grand Alliance government was formed, I had said that this cycle will continue. If you stay with the BJP, you will be called Raja Harish Chandra. But it doesn’t make any difference to us, the public is watching everything going on in Bihar.”

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also raised questions on the CBI’s questioning of Rabri Devi at her house. She said that the opposition leaders who are not ready to bow down to the BJP are being harassed through ED and CBI.

Priyanka tweeted, “Today Rabri Devi ji is being harassed. Lalu ji and his family are being harassed for years because they did not bow down. BJP wants to suppress the voice of the opposition.”

Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also opposed the CBI inquiry of Rabri Devi. He said that the CBI reaching the house of the former Chief Minister of Bihar is an insult to her.

He also said, “This is wrong. This kind of raid is humiliating.”

Earlier today, the CBI said that it has raided the house of Lalu Yadav’s wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Monday in connection with the alleged ‘land for job’ scam. The CBI has said that it has interrogated Rabri Devi at her home to ‘take forward’ its investigation in this alleged scam.

CBI has already filed a charge sheet in this case. According to officials, the special court has asked Lalu Yadav and his family members to appear in this case on March 15.
