Beijing shuts parks, museums as positive cases of COVID in China sees sudden rise

China’s capital city Beijing shuts parks, malls, and museums with the sudden surge of COVID. The other major cities of China are on high alert as well and the mass testing increased yet again. China reported 28,127 new cases for Monday which is almost equal to its daily peak from April.

Positive cases have seen new highs in Beijing. The government has ordered the residents of the city to stay inside their houses and a negative COVID certificate, not more than 48 hours old, is necessary to get into public buildings. COVID wards have again been installed in hospitals and Covid victims are being admitted on a large scale.

China’s National Health Commission has said that those affected by Covid do not have any travel history. Guangzhou, a city of 19 million people, is already under partial lockdown. Many other cities are joining the list. The alarming thing here is that most of the cases are domestically transmitted ones.
