The Supreme Court ordered the Central Government and the Election Commission to respond to the petition filed seeking to grant the right to vote in the elections to be held in our country. A bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justice JK Maheshwari, and Justice Himakohli heard the PIL filed by the Kerala Pravasi Sangam on Wednesday.
The Supreme Court issued notices seeking the response of the center, and poll panel and ordered the tagging of the PIL with the pending ones on the issue.
