Former DRDO Chairman, Scientist, and Government Defense Advisor G Satheesh Reddy met his JNTU friends who studied with him and other dignitaries organized a “Meet and Greet” in Dallas with a large number of NRIs and treated them with unprecedented and warm hospitality.
On this occasion, his Dallas friends Ranga Rao, Srinivasa Raju, B. Srinivasamurthy Garu, and friends from other places D. Srinivasa Murthy. , Shinappa, Srinivasulu, Rama Rao, Ramana Rao, Bhakta, and Ramana Prasad talked about their education and recalled old memories with Satheesh Reddy. He said that it is remarkable that his friend, from being a young scientist to Scientific Advisor (Defence), Secretary of DR&D, and Chairman of DRDO, besides giving final form to many scientific kinds of research, also initiated new research and achieved them in a limited period of time with a firm plan. They said that they are proud that their friend is one of the proud scientists of India.
Other speakers said that when Satheesh Reddy was the chairman of DRDO, when the covid epidemic hit India, on the orders of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the leadership of Satheesh Reddy, DRDO produced ventilators for covid patients on a war footing basis, and provided temporary beds with all the facilities. He said that doing such things is a sign of Satheesh Reddy’s leadership qualities. He said that in the field of science and research, he has received many prestigious awards such as Missile Systems Award, National Design Award, National Aeronautical Prize, and National Systems Gold Medal, along with Homi Baba Memorial Gold Medal.
Finally, the chief guest Satheesh Reddy spoke about his journey with DRDO, his apprenticeship with Abdul Kalam, and what he learned from them to set a big goal and strive to achieve it quickly, said that he was inspired by people to work for the needs of the country.
He said that we are seeing a big change in today’s youth, the number of students coming out of IITs and top universities who go to other nations for further studies or careers has reduced significantly in the last five years, and this is due to the large-scale scientific research progress and infrastructure in India, because of which they prefer to stay and work in India. He said that the response of the people is amazing and hoped that the NRIs will surely do their best for the nation.
The representatives of various Telugu associations in America, Tantex, TANA, NATA, and NATS AATA organizations, presented Mr. Satheesh Reddy with a memento and honored him. NATA President Sridhar Reddy Korsapati praised Satheesh Reddy for his services to the nation and invited him to be the special chief guest at the NATA meetings held in Dallas. NRI celebrities Chillakuru Gopi Reddy, Ajay Kaluva, Uppalapati Krishna Reddy, Ramakrishna, Pradeep Reddy, Balaram, Bhima Penta, Bhaskar Reddy, and Suresh Manduva participated in the meeting.
