Super Star Mahesh Babu’s recent outing Guntur Kaaram has been a mixed bag at the box office. The film which was released on January 12th has received negative talk with the premiers. The producer recently stated that it was a mistake to go for midnight premiers for the movie.
Guntur Kaaram has completed one week of the theatrical run and it collected close to 88 Crores share Worldwide and the gross is around Rs. 147 Crores. This is the second highest for Mahesh Babu after Sarileru Neekevvaru which is also a Sankranthi release. Guntur Kaaram need to collect close to Rs. 135 Crores to be considered a hit. The film will end up as a huge loss venture for the distributors in Nizam, overseas, Ceeded, and ROI. The film will end up with minor losses or breakeven in Andhra Pradesh.
The holidays have been extended in Andhra Pradesh and this might help the distributors with some collections. Till Jan 26th, there are not many options for the audiences and it might help the film.
