IT-based top tech company Wipro has sent an email to its freshers’ who are waiting to be onboarded. In the email, it was mentioned whether they were interested to take up the job offer for Rs. 3.5 LPA instead of the original quoted Rs. 6.5 LPA. For the 2022 batch of graduates, the onboarding process was delayed and an uncertain demand environment, margin pressures, and recessionary concerns are some of the major concerns.
To fresh graduates, the company offers two hiring programmes Elite and Turbo. For the Elite joiners, the pay scale would be 3.5 LPA and for the turbo, the candidates are offered 6.5 LPA. If Elite candidates are to qualify for Turbo then they must go through the company upskilling programme Velocity.
Now, the candidates who are waiting for the offer letter of 6.5 LPA have received an email giving them the option to choose the lower payscale and onboard immediately. With this offer, all the previous ones stay void.
