The American Space Agency NASA has spotted a massive black hole on the Sun which is 20 times the mass of the Earth. The Scientists called it the “Coronal hole”, as it looks like a certain portion of the Sun has disappeared. This hole has indeed prompted scientists to predict geomagnetic storms.
According to some news websites, from the hole, solar winds with the speed of 2.9 million kmph toward earth are getting unleashed. They predict that the Solar storm will hit with a massive speed on Friday. The continuous flow of the charged particles emitting from the Sun is expected to affect Earth’s magnetic field, satellites, mobile phones, and GPS. The situation is being monitored to assess the impact these solar winds have on Earth.
NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) spotted this massive black hole on March 23rd near the Sun’s South Pole.
