NASA states that The Maine Farmers’ Almanac began publishing “Indian” names for full Moons in the 1930s and these names are now being widely used.

The June full moon is associated with the Native American tribes. The name Strawberry Moon is associated with the blooming of strawberry plants in North America. It reminds the tribes to gather and harvest the ripe strawberries. As earlier said, Strawberry Moon is not the only name associated with the June full moon and it has various names based on the different cultures.

The June full moon appeared on Saturday night i.e., on the 3rd of this month and it appeared full for three days, from Friday night through Monday morning, making it a Full Moon Weekend.

Canada is experiencing one of its worst wildfire seasons with already 6.7 million acres burned to ashes since the beginning of the year. The wildfires are so severe, especially in provinces like Quebec and Nova Scotia that officials evacuated 14K people living in those regions. Due to the same wildfire, both the sun and the moon have turned red in skies over various parts of the Northeast and the Pacific Northwest.
