Gun violence in the United States of America has increased to a stage where the citizens of the USA are fearing to come out in the public. On Independence Day, the USA witnessed mass shootings yet again. It is the 309th such incident since the beginning of 2022 and also the 11th incident since the start of July. As many as three incidents of mass shootings were reported on the 4th of July in Virginia, Chicago, and Highland Park.

One major incident happened at the US Independence parade route in north suburban Highland Park in Illinois. A total of six people were murdered and many of the others are injured. 12 of the injured are in critical condition. A person named Robert E Crimo III was taken into custody hours after the mass shooting. The Police officials recovered a high-tech rifle from him.

American President Joe Biden expressed his shock over the incident.
