Super Star Mahesh Babu was mostly seen smoking beedi in his recent film Guntur Kaaram. Once a chain smoker, Mahesh Babu quit smoking long back and has been against it even in films with only Guntur Kaaram being the exception. In his latest interview, Mahesh Babu revealed the reason behind him smoking beedi in the film. He said that it was not original beedi but was an ayurvedic one.
Mahesh Babu said that, “I am strictly against smoking scenes. I will not promote it either. In Guntur Kaaram the beedis used are ayurvedic one and are made of clove leaves but not tobacco. I was given real beedi during the initial days of shooting but as soon as I had one beedi, I suffered with migraine. I updated the same to Trivikram garu and the movie unit came up with this idea of ayurvedic tobacco. They are completely harmless.”
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Mahesh Babu was seen in the role of Ramana. Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary played the female lead roles.
