The Chepauk stadium in Chennai is certainly a fortress for the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. The franchise has one of the highest win percentages at the home ground. But the result of yesterday’s match was not so sweet.

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Chennai Super Kings back to back. Batting first, Chennai Super Kings posted a competitive total of 210. Unlike the slowness of Chepauk, this pitch is quite batting friendly. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a magnificent hundred and Shivam Dube scored a quick fire 66 of just 27 balls. Not to forget, MS Dhoni, facing only one ball has scored a four entertaining the fans.

Chasing 211, LSG hasn’t got an ideal start. They lost deKock quite early for a duck. Even KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikall couln’t add much to the innings but Marcus Stoinis hanged from one end. At one stage, the required runrate crossed 14 and CSK gained upper hand.

But the sloppy fielding effort from CSK and Pooran (34), Deepak (17) little cameos helped Stoinis in closing the target. Marcus Stoinis scored a memorable innings of 124 in just 63 balls.
