The layoff trend is catching up with all the giant tech companies. Now, Google’s parental company Alphabet is looking to let go of 6 percent of their employees which accounts for 10K people. As per the latest report, Google managers were asked to analyze and rank the ‘poor performing’ employees. It is said that Google will use a ranking system and those who fall in the down category will be given the pink slips.

Google which is known as an ‘Employee Friendly’ company started the layoff trend and this is surely a panic situation among the employees. The layoffs have become essential for Alphabet as the profit percentage has drastically dropped to 27 percent in the third quarter.

Google’s parent company, Alphabet, currently has 1,87,000 employees worldwide. The annual income of employees working at Google is $2,95,884. Giant companies like Meta, Amazon, and Twitter have already fired thousands of employees and this trend is going to continue till 2023.
