Kopuri Lakshmi of Krishna Tulsinagar, D Block, Swarna Bharti Nagar, Guntur Rural Mandal, organized an ‘Ekalavya’ program in the state capital on Sunday against the irregularities taking place in Andhra Pradesh at a time when assembly elections are being held across the country. While protesting with her supporters at India Gate in Delhi, she suddenly chopped off her left thumb and it shocked many.
Going into the details, Adarsha Mahila Mandal president Kopuri Lakshmi alleged that a gang in the Prattipadu constituency represented by former Home Minister Sucharita is making children addicted to ganja, selling them and committing crimes and increasing criminal tendencies among them. She expressed her displeasure that they were harassing the officials by blackmailing them and making false statements.
She complained that Sucharita supporters are illegally grabbing the lands in the 41st division and the complaint to the SPs and Collectors regarding this requesting action is completely ignored. So, with no choice left, Kopuri Lakshmi chopped her finger off and protested. She is requesting the appointment of President and Chief Justice of India.
