With the New Year around the corner, the arrangements for the celebrations are kicking off. The pubs and restaurants in Hyderabad are making special plans. Given this, the Hyderabad Traffic Department has imposed new rules for the offenders. It is said that not only those who are caught in the drunk and drive tests but also the bars and the pubs will be held responsible as well.
There will be extensive drunk and drive tests all over the city from December 31st, 8 PM. PV Expressway and the ORR will be shut down and only be opened after January 1st, 5 AM. All the flyovers in the city will be closed as well. Heavy fines will be imposed on the vehicles with no proper documents. First-time offenders of drunk and driving on December 31st will be fined Rs. 10,000 or six months in jail.
Taxi and hired car drivers if found out that they hiked the prices would be fined Rs. 500.
