The Indian Space Research Organization has announced the countdown for its next big mission Aditya L1. This is India’s first solar mission that could help in understanding sun dynamics. The launch of this mission will happen on September 2nd at 11:50 AM. According to ISRO, Aditya L1 will be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrangian point (L1) of the Sun-Earth system which is 1.5 million kilometers from Earth in the direction of the Sun.

ISRO has used a more powerful PSLV variant XL that would carry the spacecraft on Saturday along with the seven payloads. Ahead of the L1 Mission, ISRO chief S Somanath offered prayers at Chengalamma Parameshwari Temple in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh.

Among the seven payloads which were carried by PSLV-C57 rocket along with Aditya L1, four of them will observe the light from the Sun and the remaining three will measure insitu parameters of the plasma and magnetic fields. After reaching the intended orbit, Aditya L1 is going to send 1,440 images per day to the ground station for analysis.
