The OTT giant Netflix has lost close to million subscribers in the second quarter of 2022. Netflix has revealed the statistics in the latest review meeting and it has lost 970,000 subscribers from April till June this year. This is the highest loss the digital platform has faced in the last decade. However, Netflix executives have feared a much bigger number.
In the first quarter, Netflix lost 2 lakh subscribers but the second quarter results are really shocking. The OTT giant now has 221 million subscribers. Netflix has also hinted to implement a cheaper plan that will have advertisements in the content just like Disney + Hotstar model.
Netflix is thinking of increasing the revenue and as per the latest info, they are also going to implement charges for password sharing. The new cheaper plans with advertisements in between will be available later this year.
